The press release I read didn't look anything like either Rush or the other yahoos who usually scream such things.

Awhile back I saw someone's parody of creationist arguments dressed up as an attempt to refute the law of gravity. It was a marvelous parody. The way they did it was that they just took words from creationist screeds, and changed the appropriate nouns and adjectives. It read just the same, and was instantly recognizable to anyone who's seen much of their propaganda.

The DNC release didn't work that way, and now two days hence there still has been no "ha ha, we had you going, didn't we?" statement. I'm going to go with Occam here - it's what it appears to be until the author says otherwise.Cujo359https://www.blogger.com/profile/10385213658828021737noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6851578517872251953.post-90177566090378098962009-10-10T16:51:19.097-07:002009-10-10T16:51:19.097-07:00I thought the DNC's statement was a reference ...I thought the DNC's statement was a reference to Limbaugh's "Folks, do you realize something has happened here that we all agree with the Taliban and Iran about and that is he doesn't deserve the award. Is anyone who criticizes the President just like the Taliban? I've criticized this sort of argument when it came from the GOP. I don't like it when it comes from the Democrats, either.

Quite frankly, the RNC's statement makes points similar to the ones I made - that this is a prize award that seems long on hope and short on reward for actual accomplishments. Does that make me just like the Taliban?

The DNC was run by Howard Dean until after the 2008 elections. Now the "centrist" Democrats are back in charge. Here, as elsewhere, they're equating criticism of the President with being disloyal, either to the party or the country. I find it hard to believe Dean would have done that, except as satire.

My attitude is screw them and fat ass horse they rode in on. When they actually accomplish something that makes ordinary Americans' lives better, they can start believing themselves to be worth loyalty.Cujo359https://www.blogger.com/profile/10385213658828021737noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6851578517872251953.post-27337848381213900302009-10-10T05:09:45.205-07:002009-10-10T05:09:45.205-07:00"These people, they aren't sane."
