Faux News gets more and more shameless every day. Now we have Chris Wallace playing the crybaby card because the President doesn't love getting beaten up by them anymore:
Project much, Chris? Round up your remaining two neurons and see if you can get them sparking together, here. Let's think really hard about why the President's not giving you the time of day:President Obama is appearing on five Sunday talk shows today, including the Spanish-language Al Punto on Univision. However, Obama’s media blitz doesn’t include Fox News. Since the news broke, Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace has been whining about the snub, calling the White House the “biggest bunch of crybabies I have dealt with” and saying that Obama is petty and childish.
Wallace continued his whining this morning on Fox News Sunday. In a teaser to a discussion of the snub, Wallace asks, “What ever happened to reaching out to all Americans?”
But ironically, later during the panel discussion, Wallace cited a recent report showing that Obama has done more one-on-one interviews than both Presidents Clinton and Bush up this point and wondered if Obama is “overexposed” (despite wanting to interview him on his show). In another bit of irony, Wallace, who has been complaining for the past few days about the snub, accused the White House of being thin-skinned...
Maybe the average Fox viewer has a memory that lasts no more than 10 minutes (which may explain the popularity of Glenn Beck) and thinks that the constant featuring of William "I am NEVER right about anything" Kristol constitutes being "fair and balanced", but does it seem odd to any critical thinking person why Barack Obama would choose not to legitimize the outlet that pushed the tea parties, madrassas, terrorist fist jabs, and even jokingly fantasized about killing him? And yet to widdle Chris, it's petty of the President to not want to be sandbagged as Wallace did with Bill Clinton. And this is, of course, only a sip from the sea of idiocy that is Faux News. While the brain dead viewership of Faux will probably never understand why the President isn't a masochist, the rest of America probably doesn't need an explanation.
But just in case, the White House put things in plain language:
Well-deserved, that zinger. The White House responded Saturday. "We figured Fox would rather show 'So You Think You Can Dance' than broadcast an honest discussion about health care reform," Josh Earnest told ABC News.
Earnest indicated that Obama would probably appear on Fox News again. "Not that their whining particularly strengthens their case for participation any time soon," said Earnest.
Wallace isn't the only whiner. Check out Bill O bitching about Howard Dean:
Bill O'Reilly -- who likes at other times to dish out lectures on name-calling and civility in our discourse -- named Howard Dean his nightly "Pinhead" on Friday because Dean said this:
Dean: One of the reasons I don't go on Bill O'Reilly's show -- the only reason I don't go on Bill O'Reilly's show -- is because I saw him take apart a 23-year-old who had lost his father in the World Trade Center and tell him he was unpatriotic because he didn't support the war. Those kinds of people I don't hang around. Because they're not good for the country, and they're not good for -- they're not good human beings.
You know, I should've expected a news channel like this when Jerry Springer got popular.
Moving on to other assorted idiots, Michael Steele, who a few days ago whined about people playing the race card, today played the race card:
It's hardly a secret that New York Gov. David Paterson (D) does not look like a strong candidate for re-election. Just this week, a poll showed 70% of New Yorkers hope that Paterson, who took office after Eliot Spitzer's (D) resignation, does not seek another term. With that in mind, it's hardly a surprise that the White House hopes that Paterson decides not to run next year. What is a surprise is that Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele apparently wants voters to think President Obama doesn't like black people.
Michael Steele said it was "curious" on why the White House would ask New York Gov. David Paterson (D) not to run for reelection in 2010.
"I found that to be stunning, that the White House would send word to one of only two black governors in the country not to run for reelection," Steele, the chairman of the Republican National Committee (RNC), said on CBS's Face The Nation.
Z. O. M. G.
I'm with Steve when he says, "for Steele, who spends a fair amount of time complaining about others playing the "race card," to suggest on national television that President Obama is somehow racist against an African-American governor might be one of the all-time dumbest things the RNC chairman has ever said. And with his track record, that's no small feat." What the hell happened, Michael? Did you fall down the stairs of a skyscraper as a child, cracking your noggin on every step? Did you get beaten by the Stupid Fairy? Or did you look in the mirror one day and decide to grow a little seed of dumbshittery into a thriving tree of fucktardedness because you figured it was easier than working hard to make something of yourself?
You, Mr. Steele, are basically the Cons' newest circus clown. And they had quite enough of those to begin with.
Speaking of which, here's another man who got beaten with the Stupid Stick and went on to become a Con Clown:
Hilarious. The whole country has had a dose of Texas-style fiscal discipline, Gov. Perry. That's why things like bank bailouts, auto-maker bailouts, and the stimulus plan have been necessary. As far as I can tell, Texas-style fiscal discipline consists of the following:Texas Gov. Rick Perry accused the federal government Saturday of promoting an irresponsible, immoral agenda and suggested Washington look to the Lone Star State for policy guidance.
...
"As a Texan, I'm understandably biased, but I think our whole country could use a dose of Texas-style fiscal discipline," Perry said before criticizing the $1.6 trillion federal deficit.
Perry must have forgotten that he balanced Texas' books with Barack Obama's stimulus bill -- to the tune of $12 billion. You know, the bill that bailed us out of the Texas-sized mess Perry's Texan predecessor got the country in. It must have also slipped his mind that he used those "irresponsible" and "immoral" federal funds to fix his house.
1. Spend money like an aircraft-carrier's worth of drunken sailors.Been there, done that, nearly went bankrupt and lost all our friends doing it. I think we'll try some non-Texas-Style fiscal discipline now, thanks ever so much.
2. Beg money from more responsible folks.
3. Shit all over them while spending their money like an aircraft-carrier's worth of drunken sailors.
And, the cherry on top: go watch John Boehner have to admit the President's not a socialist, then tell as many lies as possible to cover his tracks. It's a hoot.
All we need now is a big striped tent and a very small car for the Cons, and it'll be just like the circus.
