Ozma's dying. She's Lockwood's beautiful feral baby. We didn't get a chance to see her when we were there - she'll only associate with Lockwood - but we caught a glimpse. She's a gorgeous girl. I'm glad she's got someone she loves and trusts who will stay with her to the end.
Thanks for the thoughts and kindness. I've posted a bit about the end here. I was honestly at wit's end, emotionally exhausted, cried out, and terrified it would just go on and on. One thing I didn't mention: as miserable as she was, she would still give a quiet little purr- more felt than heard- when my scratching found a sweet spot, right up to the point we put her in the carrier to go to the vet.
I've got a well-stocked bar of political snark, science news and views, blazing social commentary, and bonus outtakes from the writing life. Belly up, pour yourself a shot, and enjoy your stay!

I'm so sorry to hear about Ozma. I'm glad you're there to provide some comfort for her. Losing a beloved pet is never easy.
