Honestly, the Canid-Feline hostilities have been soooo overplayed in the media -- especially in the right blogosphere, where I don't think they really know the difference. Just the other day, for example, Condi Rice was caught on camera talking about visiting a pet shelter to distribute humanitarian aid, but she couldn't remember whether there had been dogs or cats present. (She later denied this, of course.)
And that's just the relatively-moderate right; there's always the far-right, which blames everything from 9/11 and Hurricane Katrina to this year's financial meltdown on degenerate godless liberal immorality: you know... letting dogs and cats sleep together, neutering and spaying to prevent unwanted litters, no-kill shelters...
