Here's the anatomy of a Con hit-job. Cons dig up some unflattering phrase uttered by a Dem and send Faux News running with it, with added insanity from Glenn Beck:
But there's more to this story than just the usual Lani Guanier human sacrifice ritual:Dem apologizes for language that is perfectly fine as long as Cons are the ones using it against Dems. Faux News ignores apology and pitches another hissy fit, not bothering to discover any facts in the bargain:This is yet another example of Fox News annihilation strategy against anyone who criticizes them. And it works.
Fox News Channel host Glenn Beck all but declared war on Jones after a group the adviser founded in 2005, ColorofChange.org, led an advertising boycott against Beck's show to protest his claim that Obama is a racist.
News Hounds has a nice run down of this segment for anyone that would rather listen to fingernails on a chalkboard than the sound of Sean Hannity's voice.Unrepentant Bigot Hannity In No Position To Be Complaining About Van Jones "Racism":
Hannity began the segment by trumpeting the “new and disturbing information” about Jones that, according to Hannity shows "he is not fit for office.” Apparently, the new and disturbing information was that Jones had signed a letter by the “infamous 9/11 Trust organization” asking for an “immediate inquiry into evidence that suggests high-level government officials may have deliberately allowed the September 11th attacks to occur.” Hannity forgot to mention that the letter was very lengthy and called for investigations into many other aspects of 9/11. Jones now says he did not carefully review the letter before signing it and has issued a statement saying that the letter “certainly does not reflect my views now or ever.” He has also apologized for calling Republicans "assholes" in a remark made before he joined the Obama administration. But of course, while an apology from Duane "Dog" Chapman for his n-word rant was enough to garner a full hour of image rehab from Hannity, the apology from Jones was barely considered.
Hannity continued, “The fact that the president would not only allow but appoint a man who harbors these conspiratorial beliefs to serve the United States should provoke not only concern but outrage among all Americans.”
Really? Then where’s the concern and outrage for the birther conspiracy theorists which Hannity not only did not condemn but promoted and legitimized on his show?
Cons use Faux News cover to drum up the fake outrage and call for Dem's ouster:
Marc Ambinder, whose job it is to sit in a stall in the Congressional bathroom all day and then pass along anything he hears, says that Asshole Calling Negro Van Jones is in pretty deep shit because Future 2012 President Mike Pence has already fired Jones from his future Oval Office. Right after future lunch.
Meanwhile, Rep. Mike Pence (R-IN), a potential White House hopeful for 2012, is calling on Jones to resign.
[...]
If Pence is any indication--and, as a prominent GOP legislator with potential 2012 aspirations, he might be--other GOP politicians may well come out swinging with calls for Jones to resign soon.
White House full o' Dems won't stand strong for one of their own:
It looks like the hissy purges have begun:I mean, seriously won't stand up for its own:
White House officials offered tepid support Friday for Van Jones, the administration's embattled energy efficiency guru, who has issued two public apologies this week, one for signing a petition that questioned whether Bush administration officials "may indeed have deliberately allowed 9/11 to happen, perhaps as a pretext for war."
At his daily press briefing Friday afternoon, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said of the embattled green jobs czar Van Jones only that "he continues to work for the administration."Dem decides he's a distraction to the really important stuff and resigns:
Garance Franke-Ruta and Anne E. Kornblut write at the Washington Post:
Van Jones, special adviser for green jobs at the White House Council on Environmental Quality, resigned Saturday, following weeks of pressure from the right and a flurry of revelations about his past statements.
"I am resigning my post at the Council on Environmental Quality, effective today," Jones said in a statement dated Sept 5 released around midnight on Sept 6.
"On the eve of historic fights for health care and clean energy, opponents of reform have mounted a vicious smear campaign against me.They are using lies and distortions to distract and divide," he continued. "I have been inundated with calls -- from across the political spectrum -- urging me to 'stay and fight.' But I came here to fight for others, not for myself. I cannot in good conscience ask my colleagues to expend precious time and energy defending or explaining my past. We need all hands on deck, fighting for the future."
Cons do victory dance and turn immediately to next target:
Just like the last person they destroyed. As he makes a real impact in pushing conservative fringe attacks on Obama administration officials into the mainstream, Glenn Beck’s Twitter feed has become a must-read. In a message from last night, Beck told his followers to “FIND EVERYTHING YOU CAN ON CASS SUNSTEIN, MARK LLOYD AND CAROL BROWNER.” They are, respectively, the nominee to head the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs, the Associate General Counsel and Chief Diversity Officer of the FCC, and the Assistant to the President for Energy and Climate Change. Browner was also administrator of the EPA for all eight years of Bill Clinton’s presidency.
Beck’s ostensible purpose here is to expose the “czars” who’ve been appointed by the president. Sunstein stands out like a sore thumb, as he’s been tied up by holds and filibusters for months, and Sen. Harry Reid (D-Nev.) only filed for cloture on his nomination at the start of August.
How has Sunstein become so controversial? Basically, conservative Websites have read his iconoclastic, theoretical writing and pumped up the bits that sound really strange.
Dems: when the fuck are you going to learn that trying to placate these motherfucking douchebags only encourages them to do more damage? Stand the fuck up for your people.

Not since Joe McCarthy shuffled off this mortal coil in 1957 has anyone made a career by accusing people of being communists. Glenn Beck has resurrected the practice. Not only has he found a cabal of secret communists, he has uncovered an entire communist corporation chock full of commies. The name of this company, you may ask?
THE NATIONAL BROADCASTING COMPANY!
You heard me right, boys and girls. The network that gave us Uncle Miltie and Ma Perkins has apparently been secretly sending subliminal messages endorsing Marxist doctrine since it was formed in 1926. This would make perfect sense to me. Every time I watched the Rockford Files I had an unexplainable desire to read Das Kapital. But seriously, folks. Twenty years after the fall of the Soviet Union, red baiting not only seems silly, it's also kind of nuts. It's not-at-all surprising that an organization would give this idiot a forum (after all, he's on FOX Noise). What's really stunning is the fact that his ratings are relatively high and that so many Americans take his word as gospel.
All kidding aside, half-witted ideologues are a dime a dozen. What separates Glenn Beck from his peers is the fact that he is doing some serious damage to the country he professes to love so much. For all of the comparisons to the Nazis he likes to make with regard to Liberals, Beck's program has much in common with Adolf Hitler's 1923 screed, Mein Kampf. Eighty-six years ago, Hitler attempted to arouse the anger of his fellow Germans by spouting half truths and utter nonsense - exactly what Glenn Beck is doing in 2009. So much of the insane dialogue that has been spewed forth at these Town Hall meetings across the country in recent weeks might have been lifted straight from a transcript of any of Beck's programs.
Beck and his twisted ilk have done the seemingly impossible. They have deflected the blame for America's current economic distress toward Barack Obama. An incredible feat when you take into consideration the fact that the President is one of the few people in government today whose guilt in the matter is almost nil. They have also let loose with a vengeance the very worst angels of the American nature. Opening this Pandora's box was relatively easy. Closing it might prove to be a bit of a problem.
Deep in their hearts
They do believe
That they shall undermine someday....
